International Museum Day: All-day free admission to the CDF Centre & soap workshop at 2 pm
Free museum visit and hands-on workshop on soap making
17 May is International Museum Day! And the Caspar David Friedrich Centre is also opening its doors to all interested parties with free admission. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., everyone is invited to explore the centre from top to bottom free of charge: from the permanent exhibition on the life and work of the famous Romantic artist to the current contemporary special exhibition "Streifzüge" by Ines Spanier and Oliver Thie.
A special highlight awaits you at 2.00 pm in the historic cellar vault with our popular soap workshop. This is an opportunity for young and old to get active themselves. Learn interesting facts about the production of soaps then and now and create a unique, foamy souvenir in the place where Caspar David Friedrich's father practised this craft. There are only material costs.
Duration: 120 minutes
Costs: Individual material costs (varies depending on weight and size per soap)
To take part in the workshop, please register at least two working days in advance. Registrations can be made from Tuesday to Saturday between 11.00 and 17.00 by telephone on: 03834/884568, in person at the museum shop or by e-mail at: buchung@caspar-david.friedrich-gesellschaft.de.
