„Am Meer!“ Der Maler Rudolf Levy
Art break with Marie Lührs
A small portrait hangs in the exhibition on the 20th century in the Pomeranian State Museum. Rudolf Levy captured the face of a young person in 1935. At the time, the artist had already been living in exile for two years. He received support from his relatives in Bad Polzin / Połczyn-Zdrój. His family came from this small Pomeranian town. The lecture will look at Levy's life and artistic work. A small dedication sheet with a drawing by Levy from the depot entitled "By the sea!" will also be presented.
Excursions into the family history of the Levys illustrate the European and local references of the expressionist artist and at the same time the fundamental destruction of families and cultures by the National Socialist crimes.
