Politische Auswirkungen des Niedergangs der lokalen öffentlichen Daseinsfürsorge und privater Dienstleistungen
Fellow Lecture by Jun.-Prof. Arndt Leininger, Ph.D. (Fellow of the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald / Chemnitz University of Technology)
The dismantling of public and private infrastructure, particularly in rural areas, is increasingly becoming the focus of political science. In addition to losses in the quality of life and satisfaction of the affected population, it has been shown that these developments promote political dissatisfaction and strengthen support for anti-establishment parties. The lecture provides an overview of the latest results of political science research and presents initial findings on developments in Germany.
Arndt Leininger is Junior Professor of Political Science Research Methods at Chemnitz University of Technology, where he also leads an Emmy Noether Research Group on "Polarization through and in Referendums: Dynamics of polarization within and outside the party system". His research focuses on political science election and attitude research as well as comparative politics. In the summer semester 2025, he is a Junior Fellow at the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald.
Moderation: Professor Dr. Corinna Kröber
