Artist talk with Giacomo Orth
In conversation with Giacomo Orth about his current exhibition, ‘away from reality II’
In his drawings, the artist Giacomo Orth explores those moments that break through automated perception – moments that manage to endure beyond the fleeting nature of the instant. Capturing these enduring images can be seen as the driving force behind his work. In this context, detached perception, observation and seeing are just as integral to the work as the process of drawing itself. His sculptures expand the artistic exploration of reality, which is more than the sum of its parts.
Until 3 October, a selection of his drawings and sculptures will be on display in the four rooms of the Caspar David Friedrich Gallery. Would you like to find out more about his working methods, motifs or individual works? Then the artist talk on 1 September 2026 at 5 pm offers the perfect opportunity! You’ll also have the chance to engage in conversation with the artist yourself.
Admission to the event is free. We would be very grateful for any voluntary donation to support our work.
