Book launch & discussion with Wolf Iro

"What matters now. Against everyday right-wing extremism"

The Day After – In a ghostly monologue, Wolf Iro outlines what would happen if the AfD were to win the election. He follows up his incisive analysis of the current situation with a to-do list of possible countermeasures.

We are living at a tipping point, in dangerous times. It no longer seems certain that democracy is – and should remain – our norm. But nothing has been decided yet. Wolf Iro writes

:• against right-wing extremism, which has become an everyday reality,

• against the ‘I don’t want to know any more’ attitude,

• against the ‘It’ll all be fine in the end (or it’ll end in disaster anyway)’ mentality, and

• against pre-emptive opportunism and cowardice.

The author provides a precise analysis of the rise of the far right in politics, culture, the media and society, and identifies the critical mistakes made in dealing with the AfD and its supporters. And he sets out what needs to be done – now, immediately, everywhere, by all of us. For, as is well known, it is easier to fight for a democracy whilst it still exists.
