Measuring the distance when overtaking on a bicycle using the Open Bike Sensor
Workshop on fitting Open Bike sensors to your own bike
The ADFC Greifswald is launching a project to measure overtaking distances when cycling using the Open Bike Sensor. For one year, the devices will record the location, time, the cyclist’s own speed and the distance maintained during an overtaking manoeuvre. The aim of the project is to create a database showing, on a location-by-location basis, whether the minimum overtaking distance is being observed or disregarded when overtaking cyclists.
Anyone wishing to take part in the data collection can install a device on their own bike for a rental fee of €20. During the workshop, we will set up the devices together and help you attach them to your bike.
Registration by email to obs_greifswald@barilla.anonaddy.me is not compulsory, but is appreciated (there is only a limited number of devices available).
