Mission Ulja Funk (feature film, Germany 2021)
Children’s Cinema at the City Library
Ulja is 12, intelligent, a bit headstrong and has a great passion for science. She has discovered a small asteroid that is set to hit Earth in a few days’ time. However, her thirst for knowledge drives her strictly religious grandmother Olga up the wall, until one day Olga bans everything to do with science from Ulja’s life. As Ulja now has no way of tracking the asteroid any further, she enlists Henk, a boy from her class, to drive her to Belarus. Together, they set off on a journey across Poland to witness the impact for themselves. Hot on their heels: Grandma Olga and the rest of the family, the pastor and half the congregation.
