The Tobias Altripp Trio in Groß Kiesow

With three albums to their name, the trio – founded in 2019 by pianist Tobias Altripp – has established itself as a major force on the German straight-ahead jazz scene. “Virtuosity, without descending into nerdy specialism,” the Badische Zeitung once wrote of a performance, and indeed the band captivates the audience’s eyes and ears with nimble fingers and a soulful, swinging sound. Without ever losing sight of their influences, such as Oscar Peterson and Mulgrew Miller, the trio is forging its very own path through the contemporary world of jazz. Together with Moritz Koser on double bass and Peter Primus Frosch on drums, Tobias Altripp brings a wealth of radiant enthusiasm to the stage.
