Immerse yourself in the world of vibrant colours and gentle gradients! Watercolour painting fascinates with its lightness, transparency and endless creative possibilities.

In this course, the focus is on trying out and developing your own ideas for pictures. At the same time, the basic techniques of watercolour painting, the conscious use of colour and the composition of the picture are repeated and deepened. In addition to shared impulses and suggestions, there is plenty of room to work at your own pace and realise personal motifs. The content and focus can be flexibly adapted to the interests and needs of the participants. At the end of the course, you will hold an individual collection of your own watercolour works in your hands.

The course is aimed at people who would like to paint together in a relaxed setting and deepen their knowledge of watercolour painting. Initial experience with watercolours, water and brushes is helpful in order to be able to realise your own ideas.

About me: I am Paula Straub and I have been painting for as long as I can remember. I studied art and design as a teacher and bring both artistic experience and didactic knowledge to my painting practice.

Please bring: Watercolour box (watercolours & colour palette), brushes in various sizes (round and flat brushes), portfolio (A3-A4), possibly your own picture material that you would like to use.

Provided will be: Watercolour paper in various sizes, additional paper for preliminary drawings and exercises, a limited number of additional watercolour brushes, masking tape, water container, material for experimental techniques, image and information material (material costs of 10 euros per person are to be paid to the course instructor).

The 8-part course starts on Tuesday, 28 April 2026 and always takes place from 18:00 to 20:00. The last day of the course will be 02.06.2026.

Registration for the course is mandatory and can be done via the website www.vhs-vg.de or in person at the vhs.
Courses offered by the Vorpommern-Greifswald Adult Education Centre are aimed at people aged 14 and over.
