Heat pumps and gendering; refugees and old white men; warmongers and pacifists, swearers and the woke culture: enemy stereotypes characterise our debates. Where does the fear come from? Where does the anger come from? Are we at the end of our common ground or can we still discuss, listen, let others finish speaking, even if we don't agree with them?

Katrin Göring-Eckardt wants to find out. On her journey through Germany, she meets different people - those who are satisfied, but also those who are disappointed, feel disadvantaged and see change as an imposition. Despite all the differences of opinion, are there still things we can agree on?
