Vernissage of the exhibition "Above under water" by Marie Jeschke
Exhibition opening in the gallery of the Caspar David Friedrich Centre
On 24 January 2026, the new exhibition "Über unter Wasser" by multidisciplinary artist Marie Jeschke will open in the gallery of the Caspar David Friedrich Centre.
The event begins at 2 p.m. and will take place in the presence of the artist. Admission is free.
In her art, the Rostock-born artist deals with the exploration of memory. In particular with its capacity and the independent recollection of materials of an organic, physical and anonymous nature. In her artistic work, she questions the concept of mono-authorship and favours integrative co-creation. The result: her artworks and those of her collectives are transformed into shared narratives. With performative and participative projects, she crosses new creative boundaries that go beyond the traditional canvas. This results in works that foster an intimate connection between art, human audience and their natural environment. She currently works with, under and next to local bodies of water in and around Berlin.
