Marie Jeschke: Above under water
Exhibition in the gallery of the Caspar David Friedrich Centre
From 24 January to 11 April 2026, the Caspar-David-Friedrich-Galerie will host the exhibition "Über unter Wasser" by multidisciplinary artist Marie Jeschke.
In her art, the Rostock-born artist explores memory. In particular with its capacity and the independent memory of materials of an organic, physical and anonymous nature.
In her artistic work, she questions the concept of mono-authorship and favours integrative co-creation. The result: her artworks and those of her collectives are transformed into shared narratives.
With performative and participative projects, she crosses new creative boundaries that go beyond the traditional canvas. This results in works that foster an intimate connection between art, human audience and their natural environment. She currently works with, under and next to local bodies of water in and around Berlin.
The exhibition can be seen from Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 5pm in the gallery of the Caspar David Friedrich Centre.
Further information about the exhibition and the artist can be found on the Caspar David Friedrich Centre website.
