Wie Jesus zum „Arier“ wurde. Das Eisenacher „Entjudungsinstitut“ und der Antisemitismus Walter Grundmanns
Lecture and discussion with Dr. Torsten Lattki (Historian and Director of Studies for Interreligious Dialogue, Bad Nauheim)
In 2019, an installation was inaugurated in Eisenach to commemorate the so-called "De-Jewification Institute". It played an important role in the Christian-legitimized anti-Semitism of the Nazi era. The lecture is dedicated in particular to its academic director, the theologian Walter Grundmann (1906-1970). The aim was to create a "species-appropriate Christianity" for Germans by constructing Jesus as an "Aryan" and rewriting the Bible, hymn book and catechism. This had repercussions well into the post-war period. The lecture is aimed at a broad public.
A cooperative event of the Working Group Church and Judaism, Greifswald with the Society for Christian-Jewish Cooperation Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to commemorate November 9, 1938 and the role of the church in National Socialism.
