„Du redest – ich fühle“. Über die Rolle der Sprache beim Aufbau sozialer Beziehungen
Public discussion with Professor Dr. Ewa Kołodziejek (Uniwersytet Szczeciński)
The language we use creates the world we live in. Words not only convey messages, they create relationships between people. They are bridges that connect us. Linguistic communication is about exchange and reciprocity: language is used to communicate and interact with another person. For this to work effectively, we must observe basic ethical norms: showing respect and solidarity with the other person, i.e. showing interest in the issues that are important to them. This is the basis of the ethics of the word: considering the needs of the interlocutor, rejecting verbal aggression and discrimination. With a good word, we can build a better world.
Prof. Ewa Kołodziejek, Ph.D. - is a linguist, Vice-President of the Polish Language Council, President of the Rhetoric and Public Communication Working Group of the Polish Language Council, President of the Szczecin Section of the Association of Polish Language Lovers and Representative of the Rector of the University of Szczecin for Simple Language.
