Das Stoewer-Imperium. Von der Waschmaschine zur Limousine
Nordoststreifen - The special movie in the plm
A fascinating look at one of the most important industrial families in Central Europe: the Stoewer family shaped the history of the city of Szczecin and the development of European technology for over seven decades. From the late 19th to the 20th century, the Stoewer factory produced sewing machines, washing machines, typewriters, bicycles - and finally elegant automobiles, buses, tractors and much more. The film tells the story of Bernhard Stoewer and his sons Emil and Bernhard (the younger), who created a genuine industrial empire with innovative strength, technical skill and entrepreneurial vision. Filmed at original historical locations in Hamburg, Szczecin, Kulice and Mielenko Drawskie, illustrated with rare archive material, private collector's items and unique exhibits from the Szczecin Museum of Technology. A moving portrait of a family and a town - and an impressive journey through a century of invention, advancement and change.
