Presentation of the web workshop results

The art of ribbon weaving was the focus of a two-day workshop that took place this weekend at the Pomeranian State Museum. The participants are now presenting the results of their creative work in a pop-up exhibition. On display are hand-woven ribbons created in the workshop with weaving combs - each one an expression of precision craftsmanship, cultural connection and individual design.

Whether as a decorative border, belt, bookmark or accessory, the variety of woven pieces reflects both the creative possibilities of this ancient technique and the curiosity and skill of the participants. Together with textile artist Hildegund Hergenhan (www.bandweben.info), who has been dedicated to preserving traditional weaving techniques for decades, German-Polish participants learned about the practice of ribbon weaving - and developed unique individual pieces in the process.

An event organized by the Cultural Advisor for Pomerania and East Brandenburg in cooperation with the "Traditional Textiles" working group in the Heimatverband MV and the Festival of Textile Art in Szczecin (Festiwal Tkaniny w Szczecinie).
