Tag des offenen Denkmals®: Rundgang "Frauen in der Stadtgeschichte und im Stadtbild Greifswalds"
Open Monument Day®: Tour "Women in Greifswald's city history and cityscape"
Numerous women have not only shaped the cityscape, but above all the history of the city and university. On a tour through Greifswald's city center, a selection of these women and their work is presented - whether in politics, social affairs or culture, with local, regional and supra-regional impact. For example, the ceramicist and artist Ilse Reinl, with the help of other artists, captured the cityscape of 1959 in a large-format mural, which is now in the Greifswald Info Center. Emilie Schomann, Hildegard Emmel and Käthe Kluth provide insights into the development of the university in the 20th century. Margarete Lachmann, together with her husband Hans, played an important role in the political resistance during the Second World War and afterwards in the surrender of the city of Greifswald without a fight.
