Klangausstellung LAUTE BÄUME
A journey of discovery with the audience around the LAUTE BÄUME sound exhibition
DER WALD - Music and science in Greifswald
with sound exhibition, action day and large orchestra concert
A young orchestra comes to Greifswald and asks itself: What does the forest sound like? How do we feel about nature, about landscapes such as the moor or the sea? What are Greifswald scientists researching? Can this research be "set to music" - made audible? With a sound exhibition on the rampart, an action day for young and old and a large orchestral concert in the cathedral, the musicians of ensemble reflektor are exploring these questions and inviting you to a week full of music and science - and many new encounters!
Sound exhibition LAUTE BÄUME
daily from 10 am to 6 pm, at the Wall
Daily guided tour, Monday to Friday at 5 pm, Saturday at 1 pm, meeting point Rathenow Bridge
The tropical rainforests in the Amazon and Congo basins are the world's largest remaining rainforests and are considered the "lungs of the world". They still filter CO2 from the atmosphere and store it, they still have the greatest biodiversity and help regulate our climate. But for how much longer? The rainforests are threatened by deforestation and overexploitation, further exacerbating the climate crisis. And it is primarily those people who protect nature in these regions with their way of life who are suffering as a result. The sound installation LAUTE BÄUME focuses on their voices. The indigenous composer, singer, activist and journalist Djuena Tikuna from Brazil and the Congolese composer, percussionist and performer Huguette Tolinga can each be experienced at two listening stations with their (musical) perspectives on the rainforests.
