Fakt oder Fiktion? – Qualitätsstandards in der Wissenschaft
Public evening lecture by Professor Dr. Christoph Ritter (University of Greifswald, Clinical Pharmacy) as part of the Academic Career Day, organized by the Young College Greifswald
Science attempts to better understand reality by systematically investigating and describing correlations and generating new knowledge from this. However, new findings only ever represent an approximation of reality. Certain attitudes or expectations can influence the knowledge gained. The biomedical sciences and drug development in particular are under enormous pressure from various sides. Such influence can have serious consequences and seriously jeopardize patient safety. Quality standards are therefore particularly important when conducting studies in this area.
Christoph Ritter is Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Greifswald. He deals with the mechanisms of the development of resistance to targeted drugs for the treatment of tumor diseases and with the evaluation of interactions between drugs and herbal preparations that are taken by cancer patients in complementary medicine.
