Sonderöffnung zum MV-Tag: 12-16 Uhr Fotoausstellung von Robert Conrad (1962-2023)
Photographic works by Robert Conrad from Greifswald, Berlin and the world
Two years after the sudden death of photographer Robert Conrad (1962-2023), we are commemorating him with an exhibition of photographic works in Greifswald.
Robert Conrad grew up in Greifswald and discovered his love of architecture and photography here. He began documenting the changes to the cityscape as early as the 1980s. Away from the state-organized cultural scene, he and his friends also organized ESG events, readings and unauthorized rock and punk concerts in demolished buildings and backyards in Greifswald. He often showed his slides and photographs of the disappearance of Greifswald's old town.
The exhibition in the Koeppenhaus documents Robert Conrad's life from the late GDR regime, from the Wall in Berlin to his worldwide travels to exciting architecture in the new world that was now accessible to him after the Wall came down.
The exhibition with Robert Conrad's Greifswald pictures from the 80s can be seen until June 9 in St. Marien, daily 10 am - 4 pm. On Fri 16.5. also from 10-22 h during the Long Night of the Churches.
The exhibition is a cooperation between Koeppenhaus, St. Marien Greifswald and the Robert Havemann Society with the support of Margrit Kühl and many of Robert Conrad's companions.
Special opening hours in the Koeppenhaus for MV Day on Sun, 22.06. from 12-16 h, admission free
