Musical introduction to the 79th Greifswald Bach Week

The musical extended Bach family is the focus of the 79th Greifswald Bach Week. The lecture introduces the program idea, highlights, innovative concert formats and special musical guests, such as the Mädchenchor Hannover, the ensemble BachVokalWerk from Salzburg, the gambist Juliane Laake or the renowned Bach researcher Christoph Wolff. Musical samples, interviews and video sequences illustrate the Bach Week presentation.

Frank Dittmer studied "Protestant Church Music", followed by postgraduate studies in organ. From April 2000, Dittmer was cathedral organist at St. Nikolai Cathedral in Greifswald for 20 years. In 2021, the university appointed him to the professorship for church music with a focus on choral conducting. With effect from April 2021, the Nordkirche has appointed him Artistic Director of the Greifswald Bach Week.
