"Krähen im Park" - Der neue Roman von Wolfgang-Koeppen-Preisträger Christoph Peters. Moderation Roland Ulrich
One day, an entire city: a razor-sharp portrait of a society in upheaval
It's November 9, 2021, lockdown in Berlin, but life doesn't stand still. The famous but shy writer Bernard Entremont has arrived to accept an award - an event that affects half the city. Christoph Peters tightly weaves together the many stories of one day and tells a gripping tale of life in the present day: of the hectic, striptease-wielding cultural salonière, of the conspiracy-minded politician's son on a rare visit from his father, of the not-so-young influencer and her partner who finally wants to write his third novel, of the young German-Turkish couple who oscillate between joy and fear after a positive pregnancy test, of the Afghan refugee in search of a fixed point in the anonymous hustle and bustle of the city. It is a large, razor-sharp, teeming portrait of a society that can no longer rely on its old forms, but has not yet found the new ones.
"Bitterly evil, but very entertaining: Christoph Peters also portrays German society in his second novel in the 'Trilogy of Contemporary Failure'."
