Judith Zander liest "im ländchen sommer im winter zur see", Moderation Insa Wilke

In Kooperation mit der Deutschen Akademie für Sprache und Dichtung - Herausgeberin der "Lyrik-Empfehlungen" 2023

Judith Zander presents her latest poetry collection in a reading and discussion with literary critic Insa Wilke.

One follows an undefined couple into a landscape. To where it sounds, between myth and music, pop and minstrelsy, right into the heart of Brandenburg, Meck Pomerania, sometimes even dialectal. The poems are interspersed with black and white photos showing deserted landscapes: Coast and countryside, field and forest, sky and ground and Bodden. Everything in the volume is balanced, the image with the text, the seriousness with the subtle irony, the pathetic with the brash, the dichotomies with the intersections, the lightness with the heaviness. The poems are imbued with what is once described as a "rosy freedom", which is a pleasure to follow.

Judith Zander was born in Anklam in 1980 and now lives in Greifswald. Both her prose ("Johnny Ohneland") and her poetry have received numerous awards, including the 3sat Prize of the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition, the Uwe Johnson Prize, the Fontane Literature Prize and the Peter Huchel Prize in 2023 for her poetry collection "im ländchen sommer im winter zur see", with which she once again proves that she is a master of the short story.
She is currently working with photographer Sven Gatter on the newly founded "Abseits" Günter de Bruyn Tandem Scholarship for a residency in the former home of the writer Günter de Bruyn in "Abseits" in the Oder-Spree district.

Insa Wilke is a member of various juries, currently including the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize. She has been part of the "Gutenbergs Welt" team (WDR3) since 2013 and the "lesenswert quartett" on SWR television since 2017. In 2016, she took over the program management of the Mannheim literature festival "lesen.hören" from Roger Willemsen, whose estate she manages.
