Kabelage #4: Dina Summer (Live)
Two synthesisers, one microphone. Thumping disco beats underpinned by rattling bass sequences. A sound with its roots in Italo disco classics, new wave and punk. Combined with the electroclash of the noughties.
The Berlin-based trio is a joint project between Kalipo – one half of the legendary electro-punk band Frittenbude – and the Greek-German DJ and producer duo Local Suicide. With a sound ranging from nostalgic retro Italo-disco vibes, new wave and post-punk to electroclash, they have caused a stir with millions of streams and radio airplay worldwide.
Inspired by gothic icons such as Morticia Addams, Lydia Deetz, Siouxsie Sioux and Elvira, frontwoman Dina captivates audiences not only with her trademark spoken word but also with her singing voice.
Real basslines, guitars, thumping kicks, sharp snares, as well as catchy melodies and hooks find their way into our hearts and get our feet moving.
Warm-up: Disco Inferno with Nonstans.
Nonstans kicks off the evening with infernal disco tracks for dark club nights. Not a trace of understatement.
After-show: Dark Park Disco & EBM with Thyrie and Frau Mü.
Thyrie blends Italo disco, dark disco and EBM into high-energy, emotional DJ sets that straddle nostalgia and futuristic club energy. “Retro to Future” – from Leipzig straight into your heart.
Frau Mü delivers disco that really gets the dance floor moving.
