A Dementia Diagnosis – A Scare Without a Ghost
Opening event for Dementia Awareness Week. “A documentary film about our mother’s seven years living with dementia. An emotional rollercoaster journey into a world that was completely unknown to us all.”
Documentary / Germany / Directed by: Günter Roggenhofer, Thomas Bogner / 101 mins / Original version
“They were some of the most intense and wonderful years of our lives!”
When you choose these words with the deepest conviction to describe the time spent with your own mother as she battled dementia, it is not enough simply to talk about it or put it down on paper. To truly understand how such a wonderful story could emerge from a shocking diagnosis, you either have to have been there yourself or have the chance to see the original photos and videos. That is why we decided to turn these private recordings – which were never intended for public viewing – into a film.
