The film tells, in an enchanting way, the story of the adventurous and touching friendship between a dog and a robot in 1980s New York City.

Dog lives in Manhattan. One day, to escape his loneliness, he decides to order a robot. The two become the best of friends! Inseparable, they enjoy all the delights of New York and decide to go to the beach one lovely summer’s day. But after the fun of swimming, Robot is completely rusted and paralysed! Dog doesn’t know what to do and eventually has to bring himself to leave him behind. As the seasons pass, Dog tries to make new friends, whilst Robot has no choice but to dream.

**Hyäne Kino is a queer-feminist film collective. Our namesake, the hyena, is arguably one of the queerst mammals. Not only is it impossible to assign it a specific gender based on its appearance, but it also lives under female leadership. Under the motto ‘Reclaim the Frame’, we screen a film once a month on a Sunday, alternating between films with a queer theme and those directed by a FLINTA* person.**

The STRAZE is wheelchair accessible. There is a lift and a wheelchair-accessible toilet. All toilets are all-gender toilets. Beanbags are available as alternative seating.
