How dangerous is the AfD?
Book launch and discussion with Hendrik Cremer
We invite you to a talk followed by a discussion with Hendrik Cremer, the author of the book *The Longer We Remain Silent, the More Courage We Will Need: How Dangerous the AfD Really Is*.
About the book: The danger posed by the AfD is not adequately reflected in public discourse. The party is trivialised, for example by being labelled ‘right-wing populist’. Yet it has long since evolved into a far-right party. Its objectives are not adequately addressed, and its propensity for violence is regularly overlooked. At the same time, it enjoys high levels of support. Hendrik Cremer highlights a development that, given Germany’s history, was long considered impossible. The AfD’s strategy threatens to succeed unless the discourse surrounding it and the way it is dealt with undergo a fundamental change. A well-researched exposé that helps readers recognise the scale of the attack on liberal democracy based on the rule of law.
Hendrik Cremer, Dr. jur., works at the German Institute for Human Rights. Right-wing extremism has been one of his main areas of focus for many years. He is the author of numerous academic publications and has frequently been invited to appear as an expert witness in the Bundestag and state parliaments.
We look forward, together with you, to an engaging book launch followed by a discussion.
