The 2026 Usedom Music Festival opens at the Peenemünde Power Station: the Baltic Sea Philharmonic, conducted by Robert Treviño, and the twelve-year-old cellist Charlotte Melkonian will perform works by Stenhammar, Tchaikovsky and Brahms.

A spectacular opening to the 2026 Usedom Music Festival at the Peenemünde Power Station: The world-renowned Baltic Sea Philharmonic – which emerged from the festival in 2008 and now serves as a musical ambassador for the Baltic Sea region – will fill Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania’s largest industrial monument with magnificent symphonic music.

Under the rousing baton of Robert Treviño, the programme features works by Wilhelm Stenhammar, Pyotr Tchaikovsky (Rococo Variations) and Johannes Brahms (Symphony No. 1). The soloist is the brilliant 12-year-old cello prodigy Charlotte Melkonian, winner of the 2026 Usedom Music Prize, who has already wowed audiences at Carnegie Hall and the Berlin Philharmonie.
