Martin Fröst – Closing concert of the 2026 Usedom Music Festival
Closing concert of the 2026 Usedom Music Festival in St. Petri, Wolgast: clarinettist Martin Fröst and pianist Roland Pöntinen performing French music from the Belle Époque and works by Francis Poulenc.
The grand finale of the 2026 Usedom Music Festival: Swedish clarinettist Martin Fröst and pianist Roland Pöntinen – both among the most prominent artists on Sweden’s classical music scene – will be performing at the closing concert in St Petri’s Church in Wolgast.
Their programme looks to France: to the elegant art of the Belle Époque around 1900 and to the cheeky, melancholic world of Francis Poulenc, straddling jazz, chanson and surreal humour. Fröst is always seeking to bridge the gap between classical music and folklore, whilst Pöntinen seeks out the precious rarities of the repertoire.
A conclusion to this special festival year that is as moving as it is surprising.
