Phaeton Piano Trio – Swedish Brilliance
The internationally acclaimed Phaeton Piano Trio will perform works by the Swedish pioneer Amanda Maier, as well as by Berwald and Mendelssohn, at the Usedom Music Festival in Ahlbeck Church.
Chamber music of the very highest calibre: the internationally acclaimed Phaeton Piano Trio brings together three brilliant soloists from the Kronberg Academy and the Royal Academy of Music in London. The ensemble has already performed at venues such as the Frick Collection in New York and the Library of Congress in Washington.
At the heart of the programme is the rediscovery of the Swedish pioneer Amanda Maier – the first woman to pass the music director’s examination in Sweden. Her work is framed by two masterful trios: one by Franz Berwald, a contemporary of Schubert from Stockholm, and Felix Mendelssohn’s virtuoso Trio in D minor, one of the genre’s most brilliant works.
A concert brimming with precision, passion and impeccable musical artistry at the church in Seebad Ahlbeck.
