Cello legend David Geringas is celebrating a double anniversary with pianist Ian Fountain at Stolpe Castle and will open the Usedom Music Festival’s Baltic Sea Music Forum with a performance of Beethoven.

One of the greats of the cello is coming to Usedom: David Geringas is set to celebrate a double anniversary in 2026. He was born in Vilnius eighty years ago, and twenty years ago his first masterclass took place at the picturesque Stolpe Castle – where he will now be performing to mark the opening of the Baltic Sea Music Forum.

Together with the acclaimed pianist Ian Fountain, he will dedicate the evening to the composer who has accompanied him throughout his life and remains his highest benchmark: Ludwig van Beethoven.
