A Window on the World – Panama Festival Ensemble & Soloists of the Baltic Sea Philharmonic
“Window to the World”: The Panama Festival Ensemble and soloists from the Baltic Sea Philharmonic blend classical music and Latin American rhythms with works by Piazzolla – at the SEETELHOTEL Villa Esplanade.
Following last year’s opening concert featuring Senegal, the Usedom Music Festival is now presenting fascinating sounds from Panama as part of its ‘Window to the World’ series. Together with musicians from the Baltic Sea Philharmonic, the Panama Festival Ensemble builds a bridge between classical tradition and the rhythmic soul of Latin America.
Under the direction of cellist Isaac Casal, the quintet performs, amongst other works, the passionate compositions of Astor Piazzolla. With a line-up comprising cello, violins, double bass and percussion, the highest level of virtuosity and the energy of the tango merge into a dynamic dialogue that boldly pushes the boundaries of chamber music.
A spirited evening, stylishly staged at the SEETELHOTEL Villa Esplanade by the sea.
