Annett Renneberg – The Wonderful Adventures of Little Nils Holgersson
Actress Annett Renneberg will be reading from Selma Lagerlöf’s *Nils Holgersson* at St Mary’s Church on Usedom, accompanied on the piano by Hideyo Harada.
In 1909, the Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf became the first woman ever to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. Her classic work, *The Wonderful Adventures of Nils Holgersson with the Wild Geese*, tells the story of how a boy travels across the whole of Sweden on the back of Martin the gander – from Scania in the south to Lapland in the north.
Annett Renneberg, familiar to audiences from TV series such as *In aller Freundschaft* and *Kommissar Stolberg*, reads excerpts from this travelogue and brings the story of little Nils to life. Accompanied sensitively by pianist Hideyo Harada, the geographical journey also becomes a musical one.
A poetic evening at the Marienkirche on Usedom – for young and old alike.
