On display are drawings by children from primary schools in Wusterhusen, Behrenhoff and Görmin, which were created during the ‘Democracy Caravan’ project between November 2025 and June 2026.

The exhibition “Das Friedenstier” will be on display from 3 July to 4 September 2026 at the District Office of Vorpommern-Greifswald, during the office’s normal opening hours, at Feldstraße 85a, 17489 Greifswald.

On display are drawings by children from the primary schools in Wusterhusen, Behrenhoff and Görmin, created during the “Democracy Caravan” project between November 2025 and June 2026. The project was launched by Bürgerhafen Greifswald and received financial support from Sparkasse Vorpommern and the State Centre for Political Education in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It was developed based on the book *Das Friedenstier* (The Peace Animal), published by dtv in 2025.
In a series of workshops, the children had the opportunity, under the guidance of two female and one male children’s book illustrators, to design ‘peace animals’ as a way of expressing their own hopes for peace, both on a grand scale and in everyday life.
Many illustrators and authors contributed to the book *Das Friedenstier* without claiming any fees, so that the proceeds from sales could be donated to *Médecins Sans Frontières* to support their medical work in crisis zones. The workshop leaders at the schools were also involved in the design of the book.
