Guided tour: Architecture in Conflict – The Ladebow Airfield Estate on Heritage Open Day 2026
Experience the fascinating interplay between established tradition and modern design in the Ladebow airfield estate. A search for traces of hidden elements of the Bauhaus and the ‘Neues Bauen’ movement.
As part of the nationwide Open Monuments Day 2026, themed ‘Between Tradition and Objectivity: New Building Meets Architecture under National Socialism’, the Unser Ladebow e.V. association is organising a guided tour of the historic housing estate. Contrary to the strict, traditional specifications set by the clients at the time, Ladebow features some surprising details: the planners incorporated elements of the Bauhaus, Brick Expressionism and New Building into the façades. On this tour, discover the unmistakable, modern style evident in the buildings. Following the approximately 2.5-hour guided tour, the association invites you to a short presentation in its meeting room.
