Fun Facts is going on a summer tour of Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: What matters to the local people?

Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are at the centre of a special media project this summer, during the state election campaign: ‘Fun Facts.’ is going on tour and stopping off where stories unfold – right among the local people.

Whilst public debates are often dominated by national political issues, many local stories, challenges and ideas frequently go unnoticed. This is precisely where ‘Fun Facts.’ comes in: What’s going well? What’s missing? Where is something exciting happening right now?
These voices form the basis for new episodes of the programme – with a regional focus, told with humour and put into a journalistic context. The research is supported by the independent investigative partner CORRECTIV.

Local topics for a national audience
At each stop on the tour, a live recording of a regular episode is produced, featuring a rotating line-up of hosts from the worlds of art, culture, music and the media. Together, they gather stories, facts and perspectives that highlight what matters in Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The finished episodes are then released via the usual ‘Fun Facts.’ channels, bringing regional issues to the fore even beyond the state borders.

More than just a show: encounters, entertainment and exchange
After each recording, the venue is transformed into a stage for a special evening programme: the host and/or another artist presents an exclusive solo performance or a short concert.

The idea is to ensure that information reaches more people again, including on social media. Instead of polarisation and outrage, “Fun Facts.” focuses on humour, attitude and hope, and aims to show what really matters to regions and their people.
