Experience early summer in the Karrendorf meadows
The Michael Succow Foundation invites you to the Karrendorfer Wiesen.
With the wind in your hair through the salt grassland: the Karrendorf meadows invite you to experience nature up close. Together with the federal volunteers of the Michael Succow Foundation, you will discover this special coastal flooded marsh in the National Natural Heritage Site and learn more about its development, biodiversity and importance for climate protection.
In early summer in particular, lapwings can be observed here during their flight manoeuvres, while numerous waders and waterfowl use the shallow water areas to forage. With a bit of luck, young birds can also be spotted.
The three-hour excursion starts at the Groß Karrendorf car park and leads along the causeway to the bridge in front of Koos Island.
