"That's the trick, when you're alone you usually can't think of anything and you sink into gloom. But if someone looks you in the face and shows interest, your pulse suddenly starts beating faster and you discover abysses of unlived life inside you. You have nothing to say, you realise. And you start to make things up. Or to tell the bitter truth, depending on the water level. The main thing is that you start, because talking warms you up and makes you awake, and that's the only thing that matters!" Maxie Wander
Like Maxie Wander back then, this time Jutta Noetzel interviewed 19 childless women. Raymond Jarchow has portrayed them. In the pictures and texts, these women open themselves up to a public that is usually hidden in private.
