Wieck Summer Music: Piano concert with Nikolai Denisov
"Around the world with my piano" - a musical journey through different countries and styles. The programme includes works by composers such as Bach, Grieg, Debussy, Scriabin and others
... complemented by personal moderations that lend the concert a special, intimate atmosphere. Admission is free, donations are requested.
Graduated with honours from the renowned Gnessin Academy of Music in Russia and trained under the expert guidance of Prof. Pescia at the Alfred Schnittke Academy in Hamburg and Prof. Theill at the Rostock University of Music as well as in various master classes (Nasedkin, Pyasetski, Tropp), Nikolai Denisov combines brilliant technique and interpretative empathy in his diverse repertoire to create a unique performance, which already reveals a remarkable maturity in its richness of facets and depth.
He has developed his differentiated understanding of music and its effect on the audience not only through numerous performances as a cross-genre soloist, song accompanist and chamber music ensemble member, but also through many years of work as a piano teacher and accompanist, to which he is still dedicated today.
The young Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now scholarship holder and winner of the Nasedkin International Competition for Young Pianists, who was once drawn to Germany by wanderlust and the search for an artistic vocation, delights audiences with his passionate and confidently performed programme of classical, pop, jazz and film music. With youthful charm and humorous ease, he takes young and old alike on a musical journey, from Scriabin and Rachmaninov to Debussy and Satie to Yiruma, Tiersen and Einaudi, and is guaranteed to entertain and leave a lasting impression.
