Tasting with the Schloss Rattey winery

What would Don Giovanni be without pleasure? Even in his famous champagne aria, he sings of life as a glittering celebration - full of passion, seduction and an exuberant lust for life. In keeping with this, we invite you to a moderated wine tasting with the Schloss Rattey winery around selected performances of "Don Giovanni".

Exquisite wines are paired with the characters in the opera: spirited, elegant, seductive or mysterious - each wine reflects a facet of the characters on stage. The result is an enjoyable approach to Mozart's opera, in which music, dramaturgy and wine meet in a special way.

The evening will be hosted by qualified oenologist Stefan Schmidt, head of the Schloss Rattey winery, who will provide the wine expertise, and dramaturge Stephanie Langenberg, who will establish the connection to the opera and its characters. Together they open up new perspectives on the work and its flavour.

The tasting, which is also accompanied by matching snacks, is the ideal way to get in the mood for the evening at the opera - or, depending on the date, an enjoyable finale after the performance. An evening for all the senses, in which Don Giovanni's world of seduction and joie de vivre also unfolds in the glass.
