In his lecture, Dr Michael Lissok will take a closer look at the history of the founding of the Franciscan monastery and its integration into the religious structures and social milieus of the city. To mark the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis of Assisi, the founder and namesake of the order, he will also talk about the origins and early spread of the Franciscans in Central and Northern Europe.
The lecture will take place in the Bürgerschaftssaal of the town hall.
