Derek Plays Eric
Avant-garde meets groove, contemporary improvisation kisses up to mature blues rock.
The enterprising Berlin-based Andreas Willers, who is just as interested in progressive rock as he is in free form, has asked himself a rather off-the-wall question: What would it sound like if British improvisation legend Derek Bailey had written Eric Clapton's familiar blues licks? Or would Clapton be drifting around in atonal free form space?
The result is the "Derek Plays Eric" project, which Andreas Willers and his trio are bringing to the STRAZE this Sunday. This stripped-down combo of guitar, bass and drums invites you on a wild ride - you rarely hear anything more exciting in this beautiful Hanseatic city of ours.
