Nordic Sound 2026: A Common Room in a Changing World - Communities and Living Democracy in Denmark
From 16.4. to 30.5., Midissage 10.5.
In the exhibition "A Common Room in a Changing World", the Danish Embassy shows how democracy is practised in Denmark - open, open to discussion, collaborative. The workshop exhibition invites visitors to find out more about Danish community culture and to take a look behind the scenes of the well-known Danish political festivals "Folkemøder" and Danish folk high schools "Folkehøjskoler" - places of exchange and participation. Whether in the debate arena or at the large "Democracy Dinner" table, participation is encouraged in the exhibition. "A Common Room in a Changing World" was developed as part of the Danish EU Council Presidency 2025.
"We" - what do you associate with it? Your family, your team, your neighbourhood - or maybe even your country? Many people today tend to withdraw into their own bubble. Society is becoming increasingly individualised. But where is the space for dialogue, debate and common agreement? For all the things we need to get things done - and to find support and cohesion!
In the exhibition "A Common Room in a Changing World", the Danish Embassy presents lively and open communities in Denmark. Communities that are particularly popular with young people - offline, uncomplicated and often free of charge.
