The moor on Melow: 10 years after rewetting
We visit the unused fen on the Melow peninsula 10 years after rewetting and discover species that have become rare.
The moor on the Melow peninsula - what does the unused fen look like 10 years after rewetting? From the outside it only looks reedy, but when you look inside it is surprisingly colourful and diverse in many ways! Even with different types of bog and species that have become rare! It goes through reeds and reed beds and you can't always see where you end up. At the end, we have a picnic together under the hawthorn on the marvellous Melow peninsula in the Deviner See.
Location: The moor on Melow, car park at the Zarrendorf sports fishing club (it is best to carpool, there is not much space there).
Leader: Carl Barnick, Andreas Haberl - Michael Succow Foundation
Bring along: Wellies, picnic, good humour, no fear of wild boar.
Organiser: Greifswald Moor Centrum
