Lieder recital: Op. 48 - An evening in five sound worlds
Under the seemingly sober title "Opus 48", the Lied duo Mareike Zorko (alto) and Wan-Yen Li (piano) have put together an unusually diverse programme.

A compilation from Johann Sebastian Bach's cantata BWV 48 "Ich elender Mensch, wer
will deliver me", which is of course a must on the occasion of Bach's birthday, is framed by the popular Op.

as well as songs by Johannes Brahms, which show the composer in his variety of expression between
art song and folksong-like simplicity.
The interval is followed by a short but intensive excursion into the Second Viennese School with three
Arnold Schönberg: concentrated, angular, of haunting emotionality. The
five songs by Richard Strauss - late romantic sonority, radiant melodies, orchestral piano
