Ferdinand the bull lives somewhere in Spain. Unlike the other bulls, nothing can persuade him to fight, but he prefers to lie under his favourite tree among the flowers. By an unfortunate coincidence, however, he ends up in the bullfighting arena, where his peacefulness is put to the test. His friends help him to escape from this situation. The other bulls also realise that their lives can consist of more than just fighting.
