Campaign for landscape sponsors: Pruning pollarded willows in Eldena
Action day for landscape conservation at the Hoher Graben in Eldena
We use the winter season to prune trees. In addition to the cultivated fruit trees, there is another type of tree that needs regular pruning: pollarded willows.
They are mostly found in lowland areas, were landmarks, fence replacements, fodder for livestock and wood suppliers and were used much more frequently in the past. They should therefore be pruned at least every 5 years so that their shoots do not become too large and heavy and the tree does not collapse under the weight.
We will meet on 7 February at 10:00 at the end of Lübecker Straße in the district of Eldena (Greifswald). Please form car pools if you are travelling by car, as there are only limited parking spaces.
We will start with a thematic and technical briefing. It is therefore important that you arrive on time.
You will need warm work clothes, gloves, pruning shears and/or pruning saw, if available. We will provide drinks and a hot soup for lunch.
Participation is only possible with prior registration by 3 February at leo@gai-ev.de or by telephone on 01515 8194866
You take part in the event at your own risk!
