During the summer holidays, 14-year-old Thomas has to spend two weeks with his divorced father in the Camargue in the south of France. In this marshy region, his father breeds lesser white-fronted geese semi-illegally. He wants to save them from extinction and has designed a safe migration route between the south of France and Lapland, on which he wants to accompany them in a trike/ultralight aircraft. Everything turns upside down when Thomas inadvertently becomes a pilot in the course of the mission, because the geese see him as their new parental figure, whom they follow blindly on their flight through half of Europe from now on.
