Tom (Sam Riley) is a tennis instructor in a somewhat run-down hotel complex on Fuerteventura. He drowns the monotony of his life between tennis lessons and occasional affairs in alcohol. The holidaymaker Anne, her son and husband bring variety into his life. In addition to the tennis lessons, they hire Tom as a tour guide and soon amorous bonds develop between Anne and Tom. The situation becomes dramatic when Dave, Anne's husband, suddenly disappears without a trace after an argument between the couple.
A visit to Fuerteventura in 2013 inspired Gerster (OH BOY, 2012) to come up with the idea for his third feature film.
Journalist Jan Küveler (DIE WELT) praised the film as an "incredibly stylish 'Vacation Noir'".
