A man is arrested and a mysterious bureaucratic labyrinth threatens to swallow him up. A young emigrant faces more traps than opportunities and women dressed as angels playing the trombone. A rope is stretched across the floor as if to trip him up and yet shows him the true path: Franz Kafka's universe is notoriously peculiar. At the same time, his stories are full of enigmatic mental images that still affect us today.
